Welcome to Self-Care for Nurses

Everyday across Ontario, nurses are committed to delivering the best care possible to their patients. But over the past several years, nurses have told us that the nature of their work is changing and that growing pressures in our health system are causing increasing levels of stress and anxiety. That’s one of the many reasons why self-care is so important. To be able to offer the best care to patients, nurses have to make sure they’re caring for themselves. To support self-care for nurses, RPNAO has developed a series of self-care resources. These resources are focused on three domains: mental well-being, physical well-being and emotional well-being. Our introductory module provides an overview of each domain and each self-care module takes a deeper dive into the factors that may impact a nurses well-being and steps that nurses can take to support improved self-care.
