Highlights on our newest program; New Grad day at RPNAO!
One of our newest workshops is specially designed and geared towards the new graduate practical nurse. Our first event was held on November 15, 2017. We hosted 15 eager new grads at the RPNAO office in Mississauga Ont. In this session they had the opportunity to work with our professional practice team and receive guidance around their resumes, mock interviews along with receiving an overview of our popular career directions program. The career direction program that RPNAO has partner with donnerwheeler is an engaging and supportive tool that is open to all members and available on our web-site www.rpnao.org .
Grads had a chance to meet and hear from RPNAO’s CEO Diane Martin with an insightful message about launching their careers,as RPNs and the key role that RPNs play in Ontario’s health care system. Comments from those who attended were beyond positive…
“It gave me a more focused perspective and reinforced for me the need to be creative and adaptable in this competitive healthcare market which seems to constantly change. I think it is a terrific opportunity for new grads and appreciate very much the support of the RPNAO in my current future endeavours! It was a great day!” S.Horner.
Not to worry - we're hosting New Grad workshops in conjunction with our Role Clarity workshop in Barrie on April 26, 2018 and in London on May 24, 2018. Please see our events page on our website for registration details. Click here for more information.
Our work with donnerwheeler continues to evolve and we are thrilled to announce that we are establishing a Leadership Pathway Program for RPNs in Ontario. This program will provide supports and coaching along with that our soon to be released video that explore first hand from four RPN leaders, their roles and how they reached their success with leadership as an RPN. At RPNAO we are striving to optimize the role of the RPN and shine a light on the value that RPNs bring to the Ontario health care system; this is just one of the programs that will support the success of those RPNS wanting to take on a Leadership role in their career. Stay tuned to for more information coming early in 2018.
