Care Professionals: Leadership Education
The Leadership Course has been developed and will be available for RPNs and other healthcare professionals through the new RPNAO on line learning system. The course is designed to provide learners with education and tools to support leadership development.

The program is an 8 week eLearning program, start date (Week One) January 9th, 2012 and ending (Week Eight) February 23rd, 2012.
Participants must have access to a computer and basic computer skills to participate in the electronic class discussions.
Critical examination of leadership in nursing, system structure, policy making process and change management to increase leadership at the individual RPN level. Leadership theories and the role of nurses in the health care system are examined, focusing on the role of the practical nurse.

This course will be facilitated by Annette Weeres RN BScN MN. Annette has over 30 years of nursing experience and leadership knowledge through her roles in acute care, remote nursing, provincial working group, part-time/sessional faculty at Seneca College, and staff at RPNAO. Annette brings experience in facilitation from her education and nursing leadership experiences to this course.
